| thanks to cash for clunkers, junkyards are getting overwhelmed with cars. one local yard will be crushing the entire inventory in about two weeks to make room for a thousand more cars. they decided to have an 'all you can carry sale'. $80 buys all the parts that one person can pick up and carry by themselves from a starting line to finish line 10 feet away (parts must be picked up at starting line with no assistance, dropped parts can not be picked up once past starting line). no motors (seized anyway) and no dismantling transmissions or differentials. a friend notified me that there was a tt z there and started pulling and stashing parts a few days prior. showed up this morning 30 minutes after opening at the z's location to find the headlights being pulled. met 2 more z'ers about half an hour later. left the junkyard 4 trips later (between me and fellow z'er) at closing time (with a lengthy football/lunch break in between trips). i was not disappointed (my $80 worth):
all the parts we could carry in 4 trips included (and i am sure a few escape me): tt 5spd trans rps segmented flywheel rps sport street 4 bolt split downpipes 6 super clean coil packs 2x cas 2x tps 2x maf intercooler piping intercoolers a/c lines front fascia (actually carried the first load inside) floor mats new fuel rail 2 new purple top inj, 4 old pop charger a/c condenser high pressure power steering line alternator starter front and rear sway bars 4x adjustable intake cam gears fuel pump and assembly throttle body spring covers power window switch assembly tt front fascia aac/iacv knock sensor and harness short shifter as well as non z32 parts: headlights fuel pump a/c compressor accessory drive belt rad hose j30 diff z31 starter, ttop shades and bags 2x misc door panels (used to carry parts) on a side note, the quickest vg30dett drop i have ever executed:

i decided to acquire an engine/transmission stand to store my parts as well as possibly run engines on. i was quoted ~$700 to build a stand from scratch with casters (from a few places). i decided that i had a parts chassis, that i have completely stripped down (i am talking every bolt), that would have the exact dimensions and mounting positions i would need for such an endeavor ;)......not to mention i might save a few bones. so i cut the necessary section out and trimmed it down. then i had the shop weld a few seams and casters on for $100. coated and painted the stand with the exception of the sound deadening area (which i am going to remove). it has been an absolute joy to work on the engine on here, same kind of fun as building an engine imo. still have a ways to go until i have all the pieces attached....maybe be running on the stand in a few weeks. i plan on adding a mini fuel tank and wiring efi, engine bay harness, and main front interior harness. a few more pics:
